Artvisory achieve 200% sold by value for the McIntosh auction

Following the great success of the Mawallok contents auction this year for the Mitchell family, the recent auction of the contents of another grand Western Districts property in June 2021 was also a huge success. This time under instructions from well-known Melbourne identities John and Marita McIntosh, the auction doubled total pre-auction expectations and was 99.5 percent sold by lot, which is extraordinary for a 320 lot auction. Antique provincial English and French furniture performed particularly well as did quality homewares and furnishings with 500 registered bidders around Australia and internationally.

A few highlights were:

Lot 1. A collection of nineteen glazed vegetables, estimate $1,500-2,500
sold for $5,456 inc BP

Lot 51. A Louis XV parquetry commode, estimate $6,000-9,000 sold for $11,780 inc BP

Lot 85. An antique French oak table, estimate $800-1,200 sold for $5,208 inc BP
