A collection of over 60 original black and white photographs will be sold as a Single-Owner auction on Monday 15 February 2021 at 6pm. These vintage images, some of which are unique and unpublished, offer a fabulous insight into the life and times of one of the most celebrated Australians-"The Don", Sir Donald Bradman.
Offered with very appealing estimates, they are sure to excite collectors and cricket lovers, at a time when we reflect heavily on what it is to be Australian and we are missing many quintessential Australian occasions, such as enjoying a drink with friends at a crowded cricket ground on a mid-summers day, the roaring and excited crowd evoking a sense of real occasion.
Bradman managed to unite a nation when in reality times were much tougher for many people post-war, and he became an icon of this country- elevated to such a level that perhaps only the great race-horse Phar-Lap managed to emulate.
